Christie's Opens Blockchain-Powered Marketplace

Christie's is moving part of its operation to the blockchain, the auction house announced Tuesday.

The company, which has hosted live and virtual NFT auctions on its website, unveiled Christie's 3.0 today — an "on-chain auction platform" where Christie's is auctioning off exclusive NFTs, not just ones brought to the company.

The first "drop" is a collection of original work from 18-year-old artist Diana Sinclair. The collection, titled "Phases," features nine 1-of-1 NFTs that will be open to bid on from Sept. 28 to Oct. 11. Users can explore the works in a virtual gallery on the new Christie's 3.0 website.

Users can connect a Metamask or Coinbase wallet to the platform.
