Circle, Grab Pilot Web3 Experience in Singapore
Circle partnered with Grab to debut web3 customer experiences in Singapore, launching the Grab Web3 Wallet that supports SG Pitstop Pack NFT vouchers.
- Grab Web3 Wallet: Singapore-based users can set up a blockchain-enabled wallet within the Grab app.
- SG Pitstop Pack NFTs: NFT vouchers are usable at popular stores and adventures during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
- Project Orchid: The partnership aligns with Monetary Authority of Singapore’s initiative for digital asset innovation.
- Expanding Footprint: Circle has received a Major Payment Institution License from MAS and collaborates with Tribe for Web3 talent development.
Circle, a global fintech company specializing in digital currencies and public blockchains, joined forces with Grab, a consumer internet brand, to innovate customer experiences using web3 technology in Singapore. This alliance adds a new layer to Grab’s app through the “Grab Web3 Wallet.”
For starters, the wallet will allow users to engage with SG Pitstop Pack NFT vouchers, which will be redeemable at various hotspots and events during the F1 Singapore Grand Prix. Not just a marketing gimmick, these NFT vouchers integrate real-world utility into the blockchain, setting a precedent for future innovations.
Further solidifying the importance of this venture, Circle and Grab's partnership supports the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Project Orchid, an initiative to spearhead digital asset innovations in the financial sector.
Circle continues its expansion in Singapore, armed with a Major Payment Institution License granted by MAS. It also collaborated with Tribe, the nation's first government-supported blockchain ecosystem builder, earlier this year to nurture the Web3 developer talent pool.
