MetaMask Update Makes Trading NFTs Safer

MetaMask Update Makes Trading NFTs Safer

MetaMask has made a critical change to its browser extension wallet, making it easier to understand exactly what allowances a user is approving when signing a transaction.

Now prior to signing and approving a transaction users will be met with a much stronger warning of their potential actions.

For example, users will now be asked in plaintext if they wish to provide access to all of their Bored Ape Yacht Club assets when potentially signing a transaction during a Bored Ape Yacht Club trade.

According to MetaMask the change is in direct response to phishing attempts and malicious activity against unsuspecting or uninformed NFT users.

The change is being rolled out to the browser extension wallet in version 10.18, and it will soon be rolled out to the mobile MetaMask client as well.
