The NBA's Miami Heat is partnering with web3/blockchain company Chain which will see the company's logo on the team's shooting shirt, according to a Monday blog post on Chain's website.
"On behalf of the team at Chain, I couldn't be more excited to work with the Miami Heat as their exclusive Web3 and blockchain infrastructure partner," said Chain CEO Deepak Thapiyal in the blog post. "This partnership is an incredible opportunity for Chain and we look forward to engaging with the South Florida community."
The Heat isn't a stranger to crypto partnerships — it made a deal in 2021 with cryptocurrency exchange FTX for the naming rights on its FTX Arena.
Images of the shooting shirts were not available as of Monday.
Chain has helped companies like Tiffany and Co. onboard into web3. In August, Chain helped the luxury jeweler create NFTs for its CryptoPunks pendants.
