Warner Music Group Announces OpenSea Partnership

The entertainment company that represents Ed Sheeran, Cardi B, and Bruno Mars is partnering with OpenSea to provide web3 music products to the marketplace's users, the company announced in a press release Thursday.

As part of the deal, Warner Music Group (and its record label Atlantic Records) will use OpenSea's new NFT launch platform SeaDrop to help WMG artists host "limited-edition projects."

“Fundamental to music’s DNA, is community – it’s artists and fans coming together to celebrate the music that they love," said Oana Ruxandra, WMG's chief digital officer and executive vice president of business development. "Our collaboration with OpenSea helps to facilitate these communities by unlocking Web3 tools and resources to build opportunities for artists to establish deeper engagement, access, and ownership.”

The two companies already have a project in the works with Warner Records UK and web3 company Probably Nothing. Warner Records UK represents Dua Lipa, Liam Gallagher, and Muse, among others.
