$2 Million Bid Placed on Ape CryptoPunk

$2 Million Bid Placed on Ape CryptoPunk
In this post

CryptoPunk #6965 received a bid offer of 1,250 ETH (~$2 million) this morning, and if sold, it would be the No. 15 top sale by Ether value in history.

The sale is, however, unlikely to happen. Punk 6965, which features the fedora attribute, is currently listed for 3,000 ETH (~$4.6 million). When the Punk was listed, the price requested in USD was ~$4 million.

DeepNFTValue estimates the fair price of this NFT at 2,859 ETH, which is more than a 50 percent discount for the buyer. While it is unlikely to move for 1,250, the bid could instigate the seller to lower the price.

The bid comes from 2.punksotc.eth, who currently owns 54 CryptoPunks and has earned more than $20 million selling CryptoPunks throughout the project's multi-year history. The account does not currently have an Ape Punk.

CryptoPunks have been a hot commodity of late, seeing more than 3,500 ETH in total volume over the last seven days on 45 sales. The project's floor price is up nearly two percent during that time, according to Lucky Trader's NFT Volume tool.
