Top Shot Makes Changes to Challenges Feature
NBA Top Shot announced a handful of notable changes to its challenges feature ahead of NBA tipoff on Tuesday.
What's New With NBA Top Shot Challenges?
Below we've summarized the new changes to NBA Top Shot Challenges.
NBA Top Shot Challenge Schedule
While previous challenges were sometimes sporadic and unexpected, Top Shot provided a list of days in which users can expect challenges for the 2022-2023 season.
"Most Challenges will fall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday-Sunday, but throughout the season there will also be Flash Challenges on select Tuesdays and Thursdays based on scheduling," reads the official announcement from the project.
In addition to consistency on the day of publishing, Top Shot has confirmed that all Flash Challenges will be announced at 1:00 p.m. ET on the day they go live. This will ensure all users have a fair amount of time to prepare and participate if they wish.
Flash Challenges can be completed as soon as the NBA games featured are completed.
Although no specifics were provided, Top Shot hinted at a Hybrid Challenge type which would incorporate previously released features like "burning" Moments, as well as "functionality that allows us [Top Shot] to assign different actions for different slots."
Like Dapper Labs' NFL ALL DAY product, NBA Top Shot will implement prediction challenges this year. Prediction Challenges allow Top Shot users to put their knowledge to the test for free and be rewarded with NBA Top Shot Moments when they are right.
Like Flash Challenges, Prediction Challenges will be announced at 1:00 p.m. ET on the day they go live.
The challenges announcement comes on the heels of significant changes to the NBA Top Shot roadmap shared by Dapper Labs yesterday.
