World of Women Donates $44,000 to Children's Charity

World of Women provided an update on its recent partnership with Too Young to Wed (TYTW), a nonprofit organization that works to eliminate child marriage.

The NFT project, which has been committed to helping those in need since its inception, donated $44,000 toward TYTW's program in the Kotulpogh village of West Pokot County in Kenya.

The charity will use the funds for its newly-launched Shepherd School, which provides education to young girls.

"The Shepherd School is situated in one of the most remote pastoralist areas of Kenya, where close to 100 percent of the population does not have the ability to read and write," the team wrote in its announcement. "In fact, almost 1.8 million children in 16 counties of primary school age (six to 13 years old) are out of school in Kenya, according to an Out-of-School Children Initiative study conducted in Kenya in 2021."

But the most shocking statistic is that female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage rates are close to 100 percent in the area. Education is meant to bring lasting empowerment to the young girls that live there.
