Dapper Labs To Reduce Size of Its Team by 22%

Dapper Labs and its CEO Roham Gharegozlou announced the layoff of 22 percent of its staff according to a recent message posted on the Dapper Labs' website.

"As we continue to grow and adapt, I have promised that I’ll always be transparent with you. Today, I, unfortunately, have very sad news to share. As part of a broader refocus of our strategy and reorganization of our teams to better serve our communities, we have made the difficult decision to reduce our team size by 22%" says Gharegozlou.

He goes on to say that all staff members who have been affected by this layoff have all been notified.

The company was reluctant to have to make these changes saying "these reductions are the last thing we want to do, but they are necessary for the long-term health of our business and communities. We know web3 and crypto is the future across a multitude of industries –– with 1000x potential from here in terms of mainstream adoption..." Dapper and Gharegozlou cite that lack of control over the current macroeconomic environment played a role in this decision.

It is worth noting that over the past two years Dapper has increased its staff from around 100 employees to over 600 before this series of layoffs.
