Zed Run announced that its formerly named "World Cup" is now the Metaverse Cup, in a tweet and email to users this morning.
The tournament will maintain all the same skins and prizes, but will simply operate under a different name.
"FIFA reached out with concerns that there may be some confusion with the real-world World Cup and our Metaverse event," reads the Zed Run email.
The announcement also indicates that the presale and public sale dates will be announced on Monday, Nov. 7.
Minters will unlock exclusive skins for their Zed Run horses, enabling them to participate in exclusive Metaverse Cup races with prizes totaling more than $37,000.
