Escher Prepares for Late-March Launch

Escher, the edition marketplace brought to you by Tessera, shed more light on its plans and announced a launch date of March 30 in a Twitter thread this afternoon.

❗ Why It Matters

Editions have risen in popularity over the first quarter of 2023, and Escher is working to bring more discoverability to this popular sub-category of the space. Escher describes itself as "a curated selection of editions from artists leading the digital art revolution."

🔎 The Deets

  • Escher aggregates editions across different contracts, marketplaces, standards and platforms into a single space.
  • The platform will host "artist showrooms", which are "dedicated and customizable spaces for artists" that include all of an artist's works.
  • At launch, Escher will host showrooms for 25+ artists, including XCOPY, Cath Simard, Grant Yun, Jack Butcher and Alpha Centauri Kid.
  • Escher also announced "Escher Exclusives," which is described as "a curated collection of high-end limited editions." Escher Exclusives will launch on March 30.
