Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin's New NFT Book Supports Open-Source Public Goods

Vitalik Buterin, a co-founder of Ethereum, is releasing his new book, Proof of Stakeon Sep. 27, 2022, and all preorders will receive a free, signed digital copy.

All proceeds from Buterin's book will go to supporting open-source public goods through Gitcoin Grants, a platform where users are paid to work on open source software. Proof of Stake is published under a Creative Commons license for all the world to share.

The writings included in Proof of Stake are taken from Buterin's essays before and during the rise of Ethereum and "reveal Buterin to be a vivid and imaginative writer, with context from media studies scholar Nathan Schneider."

To receive the book in its NFT format, order a physical copy, make a pledge to donate (any amount), and claim the signed, digital copy for free. To mint the NFT book, users will have to connect via a web3 wallet application like MetaMask. All donations are in Ether (ETH), Ethereum's native token.

Once minted, the personalized copy of the book will become available on Sep. 13.

The physical copy is available through Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble, Bookshop.org, Indie Bound, Amazon, Target, Hudson, Walmart, Powells, and Seven Stories.

The project is supported by the Gitcoin community and Moonshot Collective. The art for the book's cover was created by guist.eth.
