Hello Kitty NFTs Coming in August

RECUR, which was behind the successful launch of Nickelodeon NFTs, is now bringing another celebrated IP to its marketplace: Hello Kitty.

A public sale for the Hello Kitty and Friends World collection is scheduled for Aug. 25. No other details have been released about the project, but the Nickelodeon collection, which did more than $1.82 million in its own marketplace and more than 1,626 ETH on OpenSea in the last week, was a 10,000-edition collection. A presale is set for Aug. 24.

RECUR allows users to move their NFTs off their dedicated marketplaces to either Polygon or Ethereum for a small fee.

Back in March, RECUR announced a $5 million raise from investors such as Garvy Vaynerchuk, Joseph Lubin, Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss' Gemini fund and Delphi Digital, among others.

Hello Kitty, which was created by Sanrio in 1974, was a major hit in the 1990s and the early 2010s and was worth a reported $7 billion back in 2014.
