Late Swing Shakes Up ApeCoin Special Council Election

A surge of votes ahead of the 9:00 p.m. ET deadline flipped the standings of the ApeCoin Special Council election voting according to the tallies on the Snapshot website.
The top three vote-getters - BoredApeG, veratheape, and Gerry - have all been elected by the community of ApeCoin holders, each earning a one-year term on the Special Council.
The final standings can be found below:
- BoredApeG: 6.3 million APE
- veratheape: 6 million APE
- Gerry: 5.5 million APE
- Degentraland: 4.7 million APE
- herb: 254,000 APE
While the distance between Gerry and Degentraland seems large in hindsight, the flip is magnified even more when compared to the 10:00 a.m. ET polling results, as displayed in our initial reporting.
At that point in time, Degentraland actually lead all vote-getters with more than 5 million in APE backing, only to have it slip as the day went on, pushing him from first place, to fourth, missing a Specail Council seat entirely.
The elected members will begin their one-year term on Jan. 3.
