Mastercard launched a limited-edition NFT, Mastercard Music Pass, kickstarting its web3 music program for emerging musicians.
The Deets
- Mastercard Music Pass NFT grants access to Mastercard Artist Accelerator program
- Program provides free educational materials, dnd AI tools
- Developed in collaboration with Polygon
The Details
The Mastercard Music Pass NFT is a key to the Mastercard Artist Accelerator program, a web3 platform offering free access to educational materials, unique AI tools through collaborations, and other experiences for musical artists. The initiative, created with Polygon, aims to educate more people about web3 technologies in the music industry.
Five artists from different genres and geographies will be mentored as they experience an AI music studio, learn how to use blockchain for monetization, and build a fan community in the web3 environment.
❗️Why It Matters
While once a meme, Music NFTs continue to dominate headlines in recent months. Mastercard joins the fun this time in a unique way, offering education as a main utility. Holders of the Music Pass (which is free to claim) unlock content that will enable a path to dropping their own collectibles and engaging with all the music/blockchain crossovers. Given the size of Mastercard's brand, the collaboration with Polygon should provide an immense opportunity to onboard new users or creators that were previously afraid of "where to start."
