MetaMask Partners With PayPal for New Funding Option

MetaMask users in the United States can now add ETH through PayPal, by using the mobile app, ConsenSys announced today.

MetaMask users could already use Coinbase Pay, Transak, Wyre, and Moonpay, among others to add cryptocurrency to their wallets, but Paypal has more than 420 million users, according to company data from 2021. The online payments provider also saw more than $1.2 trillion move through accounts last year.

To add crypto to MetaMask with PayPal, users will need the latest version of the MetaMask mobile app then:

Sign in to the MetaMask mobile app
Click or tap on the Buy button, then select PayPal
Enter the dollar amount worth of ETH to add to the wallet; where users will be redirected to PayPal to log in
Buy crypto via PayPal, unless the user has enough ETH to complete the transaction

“This integration with PayPal will allow our U.S. users to not just buy crypto seamlessly through MetaMask, but also to easily explore the Web3 ecosystem,” Lorenzo Santos, product manager for MetaMask said.
