NFTs Public Domain Sells for $15 million, Second Largest Sale All Time

Public domain NFTs.com sold yesterday for $15 million, according to a press release from Escrow.com, the escrow provider that facilitated the sale.

The sale was facilitated between Domainer and GoDaddy, two of the largest domain brokerage and acquistion specialists in the world.

This is the second largest public domain sale of all time posted on NameBio.com, outperforming sex.com by $1 million. The highest sale of all time is voice.com at $30 million.

NFTs.com tops the chart on crypto and NFT-related domains, beating out Eth.com by more than seven times. Eth.com sold back in 2017 for $2 million.

"The recent purchase of NFTs.com is an acquistion all brokerage platforms would love to be involved in," Director of Domainer Ian Garner said. "It has truly been a privilege to have played our part in the deal and continue to represent a very happy buyer."

"It was a pleasure to work with all parties involved with NFTs.com, an incredible opportunity for the buyer to acquire a category killer domain and one of, if not the best, possible .com's in the entire web3 space," said Matt Holden, the lead broker on the deal.

The most expensive ENS sale was paradigm.eth, which sold for 420 ETH in October 2021. The purchase price at the time was roughly $1.5 million. But the sale has legitimacy concerns.

The second most expensive ENS sale was 000.eth, which sold for 300 ETH in July 2022. The purchase price at the time was roughly $315,000.
