OpenRarity Changes to Be Discussed Thursday

OpenRarity, the standardized rarity calculation used on OpenSea, is getting a few changes in response to community feedback, OpenSea announced Tuesday.

OpenRarity is adding trait count and a "double-sort" to its calculation methodology. There will be a Twitter Spaces Oct. 20 at 12:30 p.m. ET to let users hear more in-depth about the changes.

Announced last month, OpenRarity was intended to be a "single source of truth" for creators and collectors, according to the project's website.

In a Mirror article announcing the standard, OpenRarity said it was creating "a fully transparent, open-source, mathematically grounded rarity ranking algorithm."
