Tencent Testing NFTs in Its Music App

Tencent is testing NFT avatars in its QQ Music mobile application according to a press release and report from Yahoo.

The profile picture NFTs will be based upon Tencent's blockchain, the Zhixin Chain, and will cost 0.88 yuan, or $0.13 USD when the sale goes live on Wednesday.

Users will be able to join "Music Zones," virtual rooms where they can invite other QQ Music users to listen and enjoy the same songs.

At the time of writing, only Android users are able to use the PFP NFT functionality. A post from QQ Music on social media showcases an example of NFTs in use within the QQ Music app, using a tribute to the mfers NFT collection.

The QQ mobile application has more than 275 million users, making it the second-largest mobile music application in China.
