Event organizers can now issue NFTs on Ticketmaster, after the ticketing company has successfully tested and sold the digital collectibles, according to Techcrunch.
Ticketmaster, which partnered with the Flow blockchain for its NFT sales, told Techcrunch it has minted more than 5 million NFTs so far, including last year's virtual commemorative Super Bowl ticket NFTs it gave to more than 70,000 ticket owners during Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles. Now it's allowing organizers of experiences, events, and concerts to offer similar memorabilia to its customers.
"Event organizers who choose to offer fans an NFT with their ticket have a real opportunity to make this new technology relevant and relatable at scale,” said Brendan Lynch, Ticketmaster EVP of Enterprise & Revenue, to Techcrunch.
