Uniswap Labs Buys Genie, Takes Airdrop Snapshot

Uniswap Labs has acquired marketplace aggregator Genie — its first step in integrating NFTs into the Uniswap web app, the protocol announced Tuesday.

Uniswap Labs also announced a USDC airdrop in August for anyone who used Genie “more than once” before April 15 and to holders of GENIE:GEM NFTs. The snapshot has been taken, Uniswap Labs said.

The protocol released a teaser video Tuesday of what the Uniswap web app will look like when it launches in the fall. The financial details were not disclosed.

The move follows up OpenSea’s acquisition of Gem, a competing marketplace aggregator, back in April.
