CryptoPunks, BAYC Search Volume Trends Toward Zero

CryptoPunks, BAYC Search Volume Trends Toward Zero
In this post

CryptoPunks and Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) are trending down on Google Trends, a platform that tracks general interest in search terms and topics over a select period of time.

Yesterday's search interest in BAYC was the lowest since late August 2021, while CryptoPunks saw a slight bump yesterday, surpassing its lowest mark since July 2021.

This is the closest BAYC and CryptoPunks have been in Google search interest since July 2022, and CryptoPunks have not surpassed BAYC in search interest since late October 2021.

BAYC peaked at 100 search interest (the highest possible score) in early January 2022, while CryptoPunks peaked at 34 in early September 2021. These numbers are comparative, meaning BAYC's peak was about three times larger than the CryptoPunks peak.

NFTs in general are also trending toward zero. Yesterday, search interest in "NFT" saw its lowest score since August 2021. It peaked in January 2022.

Recent CryptoPunks's mega sales likely led to the minor uptick the project saw yesterday, and it'll be interesting to see if the OG 10k pfp project surpasses BAYC once again in the coming days.

As for NFTs, a major catalyst is likely needed to see another huge spike in interest.
