Yuga Labs Makes CryptoPunks Announcement
In March 2022, Yuga Labs, the creator of Bored Ape Yacht Club, announced the acquisition of Larva Labs, the creator of the popular NFT collections such as CryptoPunks and Meebits.
Following the acquisition, things remained quiet on the CryptoPunks, until now that is.
@CryptoGarga, one of the co-founders of Yuga Labs, shed some light on the plans for CryptoPunks today in a recent Twitter post.
In the post, Garga goes on to talk about how the Yuga team envisioned turning over the commercial rights to CryptoPunks to its holders, much like how the team did for BAYC, they said the official terms for the transfer of rights "will be rolling out in the next couple weeks."
However, this isn't the only news that was announced, Garga goes on to say that Yuga Labs will be adding Noah Davis to the team.
Noah was the individual responsible for bringing Beeple's " The First 5,000 Days" auction to the popular art auction house Christie's. The NFT would go on to sell for over $69 million dollars at the auction.
Prior to this news, CryptoPunks saw its floor increase from below 50.0 ETH to its current floor price of 66.65 ETH.
