Sorare Is Going Net Zero on Carbon Emissions
In this post

Sorare is partnering with the leading carbon accounting and decarbonization platform, Plan A, to make its NFT-based fantasy games net zero carbon emissions by the end of 2025.

As part of that plan, Sorare will also fully offset all unavoidable carbon emissions at the end of 2022.

The platform reduced its carbon footprint by 99 percent in July 2021 when it moved the bulk of its transactions off of the Ethereum mainnet, and onto a layer two scaling solution.

Ethereum has since transitioned to proof-of-stake, drastically reducing its energy consumption, but Sorare still aims to help lead the way in creating an "industry standard for sustainable practices among companies utilizing blockchain technologies."

In addition to the technological changes, Sorare will also implement policies for business trip reduction and vendor selection to focus on reducing carbon emissions.

The fantasy sports platform recently announced a partnership with the NBA to produce a fantasy basketball game.
