STEPN Updates $GST Repair Costs

STEPN Updates $GST Repair Costs

STEPN addressed a number of "community concerns" in a project update released early this morning via Discord. In the update, STEPN made reference to three main pain points, which included the HP restoration process, increased costs associated with Mystery Boxes and a lack of communication from the STEPN team with its community. The team will focus on these three areas moving forward.

The announcement notes that the goal of the HP bar is to shift the focus from short-term to long-term gameplay through the process of burning $GST and gems. The team also announced it will be halving the $GST cost of repair, and the change will be effective starting today.

Finally, the @STEPNOfficial Twitter account tweeted, "Ape OG Sneaker airdrop has started" at 6:24 a.m., ET this morning. The Ethereum-based STEPN Shoeboxes NFT collection currently leads OpenSea in trading volume over the past 24 hours, having generated 1,079.38 ETH in secondary sales over that time period.

More about STEPN

STEPN is a move-to-earn mobile application built on the Solana blockchain. The app, which is available on iOS and Android, is meant to incentivize its users to get up and move, literally. The first major project to provide a functioning move-to-earn product, STEPN implements notable GameFI elements to incentivize users, providing them tokens when they go for a walk or a run. These tokens can then be used to improve the game pieces (shoe NFTs!) in the game, or they can be redeemed or swapped for USDC or other cryptocurrencies.
