CryptoPunk Derivatives Boosted by 4156 Sale

The publicly displayed dutch auction of CryptoPunk 4156 generated quite a stir yesterday. The final sale price of 2,500 ETH (~$10M) sparked mixed reactions from a community of participants that expected an even higher price for a Punk with a "clear identity." That identity was built in large part thanks to former owner, @Punk4156, who helped give rise to a pixelated ape with a blue bandana. Since the sale and the criticisms outlined by Punk 4156 (the personality), Punk derivatives have done quite well.

Phunks, the collection of CryptoPunks merely flipped the other direction, saw a flurry of activity yesterday, boosting their floor to 1.87 ETH at the time of writing. And now, Zunks, dubbed the next 10,000 pieces of the CryptoPunks collection (no affiliation with Larva Labs) are also seeing a rise in price action. The collection has generated more than a 2000% increase in volume traded, sending the floor price to 0.18 ETH.

NFT Market Updates

  • Loot is experiencing a bit of a resurgence, a 76% increase in floor price since yesterday boosts the floor to 3.39 ETH.
  • Andy Milonakis' project, Goat Soup, also claimed a 75% increase in floor price when compared day over day. The floor sits at 0.21 ETH.
  • Maybe the only struggling Punks derivative, Doodled Punks has seen a 41% fall to 0.13 ETH.
