Sotheby's CryptoPunks Auction
Sotheby’s announced they will be auctioning off a lot of 104 CryptoPunks the night of Feb. 23 in New York. The second CryptoPunks auction for Sotheby's is expected to have the highest estimate for an NFT auction lot, with lot estimates ranging from $20 to $30 million. The past Sotheby's auction went for $11 Million in June, while a Christie's lot of 9 CryptoPunks sold for $17 Million in May. The auction could be a good indicator for how the ecosystem feels about the CryptoPunks future.
Bitcoin Hack Couple Arrested
The Justice Department announced that on Tuesday they seized $3.6 billion in BTC that had been allegedly stolen as part of a 2016 hack. Ilya Lichtenstein, 34 and his wife Heather Morgan, 31, were charged with conspiring to launder money to the amount of 119,754 BTC which was linked to a hack of crypto exchange Bitfinex. The feds have stated that this is the largest single seizure of funds in US history and plans to attempt to recoup the funds to those affected by the hack. The Justice Department stated that this effort is apart of a newly-announced larger effort to investigate crimes involving cryptocurrency.
Pixelmon Mint List
Pixelmon resumed minting for those addresses on the mint list, allowing those to mint for the next 24 hours until 2:00 p.m. ET on Feb. 9. Those on the mint list can go to https://pixelmon.club/mint to mint at 0.6 ETH, 25 percent of the final strike price during the Dutch auction. Minting another ~200 NFTs thus far today, the Pixelmon Generation 1 floor has held just around 1 ETH after the downward pressure following the public mint sell out.
Lives of Asuna after reveal have reached our top spot in volume up 332%, but the floor has come crashing down 76% to 0.5 ETH.
Clone X down 20% in volume as market continues to slow across the board. The floor has dipped just below 15 ETH, down 8%.
Mutant Ape Yacht Club jumps in volume up 30% breaking 1,000 ETH in last 24 hours. Despite this, the floor slid 10% in rare movement for the apes lately.
