Final Day! Moonbirds Allowlist Raffle!

Moonbirds, the official Proof Collective PFP project, will now hold an allowlist raffle to determine eligible minters for its public sale. 

Project founder Kevin Rose shared the following video to announce the news earlier today. 

The move comes after strong scrutiny of the VaynerSportsPass drop earlier this week which burned more than 4,000 ETH in gas fees. 

Initially the Moonbirds launch was expected to be a Dutch auction with a starting price at 2.5 ETH. 

However, after careful consideration and hype surrounding the eventual launch, the Proof Collective team met and decided the allowlist raffle alternative would be the most fair move forward. 

While the move will help avoid a gas war, many voiced their opinions that raffles can still be gamed and botted, in some cases creating an even more unfair scenario where only those skirting the rules and creating thousands of entries ultimately win.

The allowlist raffle will be run through Premint, and requires that users verify their Discord username, follow moonbirds_xyz on Twitter, and have at least 2.5 ETH in their wallet. 

Hopeful participants can enter the raffle until 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, April 10. 

Winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 13 and will have a three hour window from noon to 3:00 p.m. ET on April 16 to mint their Moonbirds. 

Any winning spots that do not mint a Moonbird will be reshuffled and raffled off once more via Premint. 

All Proof Collective pass holders can mint up to two Moonbirds for 2.5 ETH each.
