DraftKings Reignmakers NFL Week 5 Diary: NFT Portfolio Insights, Game Stacks & Top Selections
In this post

Week 5 of the NFL season is here, and it appears that floor prices for most DraftKings Reignmakers cards are finding stability despite supply increases. This presents an opportunity to exploit later games and consider acquiring players from teams with strong playoff potential. This strategy can significantly enhance a card's utility, and I'm planning to incorporate it in the coming weeks to bolster my lineups.

In this article, I'll delve into the details of this strategy, outlining how to minimize investment while maximizing potential returns. Let's dive in.

Portfolio Recap & Strategy for Week 5

After DraftKings revealed the future utility of cards, I chose to retain most of my portfolio, emphasizing building my 2023 collection via my extensive 2022 collection, which boasts over 1,500 NFT cards with top-tier players.

This week's pack drop for the Rush set boasted one of the season's highest average projected point totals. Thanks to the deal of buying 5 packs and receiving $100 DK credit, the average pack price was reduced to $50, making it a rather appealing opportunity. The first four packs I opened didn't yield much success, providing only 1 RARE card in each of them. So, I decided to wait until later in the day to open the fifth pack, and it didn't disappoint.

When I finally opened the fifth pack, I was thrilled to discover an ELITE card inside. Of course, I slow-rolled the reveal, starting with the four CORE cards before unveiling the Tyreek Hill ELITE card as the last one. It was a fantastic card to acquire, one of the best in the drop. However, it presented a bit of a challenge as I only had one main lineup, and I already owned Justin Jefferson. To make the most of this situation, I needed to invest in a second lineup. Let me walk you through my plan and how I aimed to minimize my expenses heading into today's 4:00 pm games.

Flush with Dolphins, I had four playable cards at the ELITE tier. I decided to split up De'Von Achane up from the other three, making my No. 1 lineup Tua, Waddle and Hill. So, I needed two cards to fill the other two spots, and having already owned a Micheal Carter card, and his start time in the 4:00 p.m. window, it was to roster him with the possibility of moving to someone like D’Andre Swift if the Dolphins stack ends up panning out.

I also added Micheal Wilson, who can be interchanged with Garrett Wilson in the event of a ceiling game. Plus- Wilson’s utility should continue to increase in that Arizona Offense as the season progresses.

Now, let's talk about the second lineup. Starting with Achane and Jefferson is a solid foundation, but it's far from a complete lineup. To build this out, I turned to the quarterback position. I wanted another ELITE tier player, so I chose Matt Stafford. He came in at around $240, making him one of the most affordable starting QBs on the market. Plus, he's getting his favorite target, Cooper Kupp, back in the lineup this week. Stafford has already demonstrated his ability to make plays this season, and with Kupp's return, I expect his performance to improve even further.

For the fourth ELITE card, I added Kenneth Gainwell. His editions were priced at around $50, and although he might not be the optimal choice this week, he's a cost-effective option that can offer significant utility as the season progresses. If Achane has another spectacular game, my plan is to pivot to another player of similar caliber from the 4:00 pm window, like Garrett Wilson or someone comparable. This strategy allows me to stay flexible and adapt based on how the early games unfold.
