The regular season of the 2023 PGA TOUR is nearing its end, culminating with the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club. The tournament serves as a pivotal "event within an event," granting golfers one last shot at accumulating critical FedEx Cup points to guarantee a playoff berth. This year's challenge is more grueling than ever, as only the top 70 golfers will proceed to the playoffs. Prominent golfers such as Adam Scott, Shane Lowry, and Justin Thomas currently sit outside the qualifying zone and are heading to Greensboro for one last shot at postseason qualification. As the stakes rise, anticipate fierce competition for the coveted playoff spots.

DraftKings Reignmakers is capitalizing on the unique playoff format by unveiling a new "Playoffs" set. These player cards spotlight the top 100 golfers in the FedEx Cup rankings following the Open Championship, with a cap of 67 qualifiers due to some golfers already having secured a playoff spot without a card.

Concurrently, there will be a distinct contest held each week of the playoffs, accessible exclusively to the owners of these "Playoffs" set cards. As the playoffs advance, the prize pool for these contests will escalate, peaking at an impressive $50,000 first-place award at the TOUR Championship. This represents the largest Reignmakers PGA TOUR prize for the year.

As the regular season winds down, attention is shifting back to the Wyndham Championship. Keep an eye out for a comprehensive analysis of the "Playoffs" set. Additionally, we'll be examining some of the best values in the Marketplace over the weekend. But for now, let's explore the top values for the forthcoming Wyndham Championship.

The Tournament

For the last 15 years, Greensboro has been the proud host of the Wyndham Championship, providing golf enthusiasts with an exhilarating event as one of the final regular-season FedEx Cup tournaments. While it may not always draw the world's top-ranking players, the added suspense of it being the last opportunity to qualify for the playoffs makes it a highly anticipated event among fans. Given the high stakes, players are driven to give their utmost performance to secure a spot in the playoffs. For Reignmakers participants, the possibility of winning a grand prize of $10,000 adds another layer of excitement, encouraging a close following of the tournament.

The Course

This week's Wyndham Championship takes place at the picturesque Sedgefield Country Club, located just around the corner from Webb Simpson's home. The Par 70 course extends over 7,200 yards and presents unique weather challenges. Forecasters predict rain on Friday morning, with nearly an inch expected between 7-9 a.m. ET alone. This anticipated poor weather could cause delays and alter gameplay, potentially neutralizing any weather advantages that players might have had. Regardless of the weather, the tournament is set to be an enthralling spectacle for both participants and spectators.

In fact, by PGA TOUR standards, Sedgefield Country Club's course is considered relatively easy, with an average score of roughly 0.75 strokes under par. The greens in regulation percentage is around 73%, suggesting that the majority of players can expect to hit the greens during their rounds.

This percentage jumps to a remarkable 80% for those golfers who manage to land their drives on the fairway, making it one of the highest rates across the entire TOUR. These promising statistics hint that golfers with precise driving and robust iron play may have a considerable edge on this course. Observing how they leverage these advantages during the Wyndham Championship will undoubtedly be intriguing.

The Golfers

Sungjae Im and Si Woo Kim are returning to Greensboro for the Wyndham Championship, both boasting a robust performance history at this event. Their past showings suggest familiarity and comfort with the course, positioning them as potential frontrunners this week.

Additional prominent players like Sam Burns, Hideki Matsuyama, and Russell Henley are also participating, upping the competition level of the tournament. With such an accomplished roster, the Wyndham Championship is primed to offer thrilling golf moments for enthusiasts and spectators.

Three-Ball: 3 DraftKings Reignmakers PGA TOUR Targets

Here are three potential options for DraftKings Reignmakers PGA TOUR this week:

*An earlier version of this article had Keith Mitchell who has since withdrawn from the event.

Adam Scott

Adam Scott, the seasoned Australian, will be putting his impressive playoff streak on the line this week at the Wyndham Championship. In order to make the playoffs, he needs a strong finish in this event. Fortunately, Scott has a history of success at Sedgefield Country Club, where he secured a second-place finish two years ago.

Recently, Scott has been showing promising form, gaining over 1.85 strokes in three of his last five starts. With his experience and skill, he will certainly give himself a good chance of making it to the playoffs once again come Sunday afternoon.

Beau Hossler

Hossler appears to be peaking at the perfect moment, having secured two of his best finishes this season in recent tournaments. His current form and stellar performances have propelled him to 63rd in the FedEx standings, positioning him well for a playoff berth.

Outpacing eight competitors this week will be challenging, considering he's more than 55 points ahead of Austin Eckroat, who currently sits at No. 70 in the rankings. To accumulate 55 points, one would need to place in the top 14. Therefore, with Hossler's promising form likely to provide at least two-week utility and numerous fall swing events on the horizon, it makes sense to add some Hossler to the collection this week.

J.T. Poston

Though Justin Thomas might be the more recognized "JT," he certainly hasn't been the most successful JT on the golf course over the past month. Arguably, Poston is playing better than anyone else in the field this week and is a previous winner of the event. He has already secured his place in next week's tournament and currently ranks within the top 50 in the FedEx standings.

With strong performances in the following weeks, he could easily progress to the BMW Championship, and perhaps even qualify for the prestigious TOUR Championship with a remarkable finish. Considering his current form and previous success at the Wyndham Championship, the "Postman" is expected to deliver a strong performance. He's definitely a golfer to watch and a potential addition to your Reignmakers PGA TOUR collection this week.
