The MetaMask official account tweeted that the rumors swirling around an imminent MetaMask snapshot and airdrop are false.

There had been some speculation over the weekend that the $MASK token had been confirmed. And there were various Twitter threads about how using MetaMask swaps or bridges (among other things) were possible ways to farm the airdrop. MetaMask has now dispelled those rumors for now.
