🖼 A Huge Day for Generative Art

Is generative art heating up again?

There are some signs that point to yes.

• Last weekend, a new platform and project scored a 50x+ for minters.
• Yesterday's Art Blocks Curated minted out at the highest level in months.
• And generative art on BTC is dominating the daily leaderboard.

Is it real, or a head fake?

What Happened?

"Proscenium" by remnynt minted out at 1.2 ETH on Art Blocks Curated yesterday, the highest level in quite some time.

The floor was up about 10% in early trading at 1.38 ETH on 100 ETH volume, but then demand did dampen overnight as the floor has dipped to 0.7 ETH.

Over on Bitcoin, another gen art mint "FloraForms" by Harto x Belvedere saw big demand.

FloraForms minted out its 10k collection for $5/each and reached a 0.006 BTC floor ($300) in early trading.

When the dust settled, the floor had fallen to 0.004 BTC (still a win for minters) but on a whopping 17.33 BTC in volume.

That was enough for 2nd on the daily leaderboard, behind just Quantum Cats. Another recent gen art set FLARES by FAR reached 8th on the volume board with 3.4 BTC volume.

A solid early return for minters.

This all came after a monster weekend from another generative art set in Pebbles.

Pebbles by Arsonic and Zeblocks (from Unigrids, Sgt Pepe and a lot more) was the first drop on Punk6529's new NextGen generative art platform.

And the market loved it, with it sending to a 3.65 ETH floor at peak over the weekend (a 50x for minters who paid 0.06529 ETH) before settling around 2 ETH. Still a very high floor for this art market.

Why It Matters?

This art bear market has been brutal.

But good projects can still succeed.

And provenance is clearly playing a role in the art market.

Pebbles has the advantage of being the FIRST drop on 6529's NextGen. It's the Squiggles equivalent. It benefits from those making a bet on 6529 as well as the nice aesthetics of the collection.

FloraForms has the advantage of being the first 10k generative set on BTC, and the first large drop from the Vivid team.

As for Proscenium, it may not have immediate provenance - but good art will always see demand. Though the mint and aftermath proved out the evergreen lesson - hyped art drops doing Dutch auctions often attract flippers who can wreck floors in early trading. 

Regardless, it's been a big week for gen art. Let's hope it continues.

🐻 BeraChain's Big Day

It was a busy day for the mega-hyped upcoming L1 Berachain.

Three notable events took place yesterday for this ecosystem:

• The $PLUG airdrop for HoneyComb and Ooga Booga holders
• A LayerZero teaser (likely meaning holders will be included in the airdrop)
• A potential Pudgy Penguin airdrop teaser

Plus today, a new NFT mint tied to Ramen Finance called Hungryberas.

What a day.

But nothing new for the cult holders in this eco, who are used to insane action.

And their NFTs benefitted. Some notable price action:

• HoneyCombs +16% to 0.52 ETH (+59% on the week)
• Band Bears +14% to 8.97 ETH
• Bit Bears +6% to 5.49 ETH
• Baby Bears -1% to 17 ETH (but +22% on the week)

Traders are betting big on this upcoming L1 with major financial backing and a cult following.

It's good to be a bera.

🚚 What else is happening in NFTs?

Here is the list of other notable headlines from the weekend in NFTs:

• ETH trading volume came in at $25.2M on Wednesday; NFT leaders were mostly green
• Farm Land was the top mover on ETH, jumping 27% to 1.61 ETH; PROOF and Moonbirds were up next, with PROOF up 20% to 2 ETH and Moonbirds +14% at 1.67
• Doodles announced its Doodles Stoodio is leaving beta, aiming to be the mobile-first, multichain base for Doodles entire ecosystem and serve as top of funnel for onboarding new holders (+10% to 3.67 ETH)
• NFTperp introduced Concentrated Liquidity for NFT liquidity providers, where LPs can choose a minimum and maximum price for the NFT they provide liquidity for, only earning fees in that range
• Quantum Cats led action on BTC tallying 19 BTC on the day and holding at 0.196 BTC; RSIC at 0.069, Nodes to 0.163, and Puppets to 0.065 in another red day for BTC NFTs
• Two new art projects are top 8 in volume on BTC, with FloraForms seeing 17.3 BTC volume in its first day and FLARES by FAR catching 3.44 BTC
• Solana NFTs mostly chopped again with Transdimensional Foxes leading volume at 5.5 SOL; Mad Lads +5.5% to 172, Tensorians -1% at 82 and Crypto Undeads +1%% at 4.75

🗓 Upcoming NFT Mints and Reveals

Today is a much slower day after a very busy Wednesday.

MARMS is the highlight on Solana, with its cute gerbil art minting for 2.25 SOL (5,555 supply). It will likely see big demand on mint day and the next few days, but it's unclear right now that there is much real NFT demand on Solana.
