Ronaldo, Binance Announce NFT Launch Date
Cristiano Ronaldo's NFT drop will take place on Binance on Friday, Nov. 18, according to a tweet from the star soccer player.
The "CR7" NFT collection is set to feature iconic moments from Ronaldo's playing career and will feature 6,645 NFTs across four different rarity tiers.
The two rarest tiers (Super Super Rare and Super Rare) NFTs will be available via a 24-hour English auction starting at 4:00 a.m. ET on Friday.
The English auction will be composed of five Super Super Rare NFTs, with a starting price of 10,000 BUSD (Binance's stablecoin, equal to $1), and 40 Super Rare NFTs, with a starting price of 1,700 BUSD.
The remaining 6,600 NFTs can be purchased for 77 BUSD (Rare and Normal).
Depending on the rarity of the Ronaldo NFT, additional perks are available to the holder in the form of:
- A message from Ronaldo
- Autographed Ronaldo and Binance merch
- Access to future Ronaldo drops
- Complimentary CR7 Mystery Boxes NFTs
- Entry into giveaways with signed merchandise
Those who don't already have a Binance account can sign up with the code "Ronaldo" and expect a special gift when the collection drops on Friday. The giveaway is limited to the first 1.5 million users to use the Ronaldo code.
Users in the United States who must register for Binance.US are not eligible for the "Ronaldo" mystery box promotion but will receive a souvenir NFT based on the amount of USD deposited after signup.
The CR7 collection marks the first NFT drop as part of a multi-year deal that Ronaldo signed with Binance earlier this year. The next drop is slated to take place in early 2023.
Access to the drop page is expected in the coming days, but at the time of writing, a search for "Ronaldo" or "CR7" on the Binance NFT marketplace results in multiple, empty NFT collections.
