TwelveFold Auction Comes To An End

TwelveFold Auction Comes To An End

The auction for the 288 TwelveFold Ordinal inscriptions has officially concluded, according to an announcement from Yuga Labs.

❗ Why It Matters

Today marks the end of the auction which had the NFT space talking since its first announcement. Prior to the auction's conclusion, many suspected TwelveFold would help set the market on other Ordinals collections and legitimize the nascent Ordinals market on Bitcoin. It's too early to tell, but this could be a landmark event in the history of Bitcoin NFTs.

The Deets

The auction ended with a high bid coming in at 7.11 BTC or a total of $159,400. The last accepted bid was accepted at 2.2501 BTC or $50,471 respectively. All winners will have their inscriptions sent within the next week, while unsuccesful bidders should be refunded within 24 hours.

💰Money Talks

In total, TwelveFold's auction pulled in approximately 735 BTC, $16.5 million at today's prices.

🎤 Community Quotes

Community criticism was loud as the auction was taking place, with many calling it irresponsible due to the "Trust Me, Bro" style of transaction. Others were excited to see history take place:

Congrats @yugalabs and the winners! excited to see where this next phase with #ordinals on #btc takes the space. bullish AFDaff_thinginab
