27-Bit Digital by kai NFT Overview

27-Bit Digital is a collection of 1,024 on-chain, generative art NFTs created by generative artist kai on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection was released as part of the Art Blocks Curated Series 2 NFT collection. Kai found inspiration in and pays tribute to the digital legacy of 8-bit color and 7-segment LED displays with the creation of the 27-Bit Digital collection. The technological limitations of the 7-segment LED displays are likened to the constraints of putting art on the blockchain according to kai. While the art itself is represented by the image of each NFT, the true art lies in the underlying code that renders each image pixel by pixel in only 27-bits of information.
