Apparitions by Aaron Penne NFT Overview
Project Information
Apparitions is a collection of 1,500 on-chain, generative art NFTs created by artist Aaron Penne, who is also the Director of Engineering at Art Blocks, on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection was released as part of the Series 2 Curated Art Blocks Heritage Collection. The collection explores the space between what is algorithmic and what is organic. Penne's goal with the collection is to lead viewers to view each output as both computer generated and hand-crafted. The initial inspiration for the collection was derived from an 1893 visualization by Levi Walter Yaggy. The visualization features colorful layering that Penne attempts to replicate throughout Apparitions to give a sense of the cliff sides of the many cliffs of Southern California.
