Art Blocks Announces Next Curated Release by Aranda\Lasch
Art Blocks Curated is back with a brand new release from art studio Aranda\Lasch, led by Benjamin Aranda, Joaquín Bonifaz and Chris Lasch.
Aranda/Lasch has artworks permanently displayed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago. Now, they turn toward the digital world with "Primitives," a collection of virtual sculptures.
“Aranda\Lasch has been working with modular geometry across furniture and sculpture for many years," the Art Blocks Curation Board said. "This is an amazing shift from physical space to focus entirely on digital form. It’s wonderful to see the form grow, then to look at it from different angles. This is a new approach to virtual sculpture for Art Blocks.”
Due to its digital form, "Primitives" goes beyond sculpture with animation that activates the collection.
“Primitives have really nice texture and interesting geometric forms," the Art Blocks Curation Board continued. "They feel like crystals or rocks with a hand-drawn quality. The interactivity and animation are added touches that help bring the forms to life. This project is on the verge of revealing something super interesting about quasi periodic patterns.”
"Primitives" by Aranda/Lasch goes live on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. ET with a collection size of 400. The mint price starts at 4 ETH and lowers until 0.25 ETH or until all the NFTs are minted.
