Art Blocks Shares Details on Generative Art Fund
In this post

Art Blocks released more details about its philanthropic efforts and Generative Art Fund in a Twitter thread on Friday.

The Generative Art Fund was soft-launched last year with the goal of "advancing the creative practice of and discourse about generative art through collaboration, empowerment, inclusion, and amplification."

Upon launching, artists were able to easily divert sale proceeds directly towards the fund, and some donated personally as well.

Utilizing the Generative Art Fund, the project will now move forward giving back to the community by establishing an artist residency program to be hosted at the Art Blocks space in Marfa, Texas.

Additionally, the project is bringing on Jenny Moore, formerly of the Chinati Foundation and New Museum, to help spearhead philanthropic efforts as a philanthropic advisor. Moore will be tasked with consulting on the use of the Generative Art Fund and working on social impact initiatives for Art Blocks.

Art Blocks has a deep tradition of philanthropic efforts, including raising nearly $38 million dollars last year.

The platform has also encouraged artists to consider giving back, including instructions for how to make on-chain donations directly in the site's artist documentation.
