Yuga Founder Responds to BAKC Logo Concerns
In this post

Yuga Labs founder Greg Solano (@CryptoGarga) took to Twitter late yesterday evening to address similarities between the Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) logo and a similar design created by Easy Drawing Guides in April of 2021.

โ—Why It Matters

Twitter user @Jdotcolombo had pointed out the similarities between the two logos early yesterday morning, prompting Easy Drawing Guides to note that Yuga Labs does not have permission to use their design.

๐Ÿ” The Deets

  • Easy Drawing Guides claims intellectual property rights for the image, stating it's their "original drawing," and protected by their terms and conditions.
  • Upon becoming aware of the situation, Solano stated it was "news to us," and that Yuga Labs is investigating the situation.
  • Yuga Labs used a freelancer for the BAKC logo, according to Solano's tweets.

๐Ÿ”œ What's Next?

  • Solano committed to changing the BAKC logo "soon."

Your company, not some 'freelancer' is responsible. The hundreds of millions you made off this project actually belong to @EasyDrawingGuidesCrypto Bitlord

No biggie, handle it and move on. Wouldn't be the first time a freelancer took the copy pasta path to deliver on a contract. Maybe add a QA layer to all current/new IP to prevent this.0x-hodl.eth
