Snoop Dogg and Eminem to Represent Yuga Labs at VMAs This Sunday
Snoop Dogg and Eminem are taking the stage at this year's MTV Video Music Awards with a one-of-a-kind performance of their hit new single, "From the D 2 The LBC," which is inspired by Bored Ape Yacht Club and the rest of the Yuga Labs' ecosystem, according to a press release from Eminem's official website.
The VMAs stage will be transformed into a fictional world inspired by Yuga Labs' Otherside metaverse, in partnership with Yuga Labs. Otherside saw more than $1 billion worth of virtual land NFTs sold during its Otherdeeds drop, and it is working on creating an operational metaverse.
This is the first time Eminem is performing at the VMAs since 2010 when he performed "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie." Snoop Dogg has been away from the VMAs even longer, not performing for the last 17 years. In 2005 he took the stage with Diddy.
Snoop Dogg and Eminem released "From the D 2 The LBC" during Ape Fest two months ago. Since then, it has amassed more than 46 million views on YouTube. The video features Snoop Dogg's Bored Ape NFT, known as Dr. Bombay, as well as Eminem's Bored Ape NFT.
Eminem entered the Yuga Labs' ecosystem in January 2022, while Snoop Dogg had previously joined the virtual club on Dec. 21, 2021.
Since then, Snoop Dogg has been using his Bored Ape NFT in all sorts of creative ways, dropping an album using its IP and even creating a BAYC-inspired dessert shop called Dr Bombay's Sweet Exploration.
Bored Ape Yacht Club currently has a floor price of 76.49 ETH, nearly 10 ETH more than that of CryptoPunks.
