Contractions by Loie Hollowell NFT Overview

Contractions is a collection of 280 generative art NFTs created by American painter Loie Hollowell on the Ethereum blockchain. The collection was released as part of the Art Blocks x Pace Gallery NFT collection. While Loie Hollowell's paintings can be found in many different art galleries throughout the world, Contractions represents the genesis NFT project by the artist. Contractions is based on the artist's sculptural paintings, titled Split Orb, and portrays the artist's experiences with childbirth. Each NFT in the collection features two bifurcated orbs sitting on top of one another. The top orb represents Hollowell's brain, while the lower orb represents a pregnant stomach and cervix.
