DeafBeef NFT Overview

DeafBeef is a collection of completely on-chain, generative, auidovisual art. The collection is created by developer @_deafbeef, who created a self contained code written in C language that directly outputs raw numerical data encodable to sound and visual media. This differs from typical NFTs, which store media with services like IPFS and only a reference hash is stored on the blockchain.

Each NFT in the collection is generated at the time of minting from a random hash value, influencing musical elements including tempo, timbre, pitch and time signature. The code that generates the audiovisual NFTs is stored completely on-chain, allowing a user to reconstruct the media without having to trust IPFS or external storage, which means it will be available forever as long as Ethereum is alive.
