Marvel and DC Artist Joins Fragment Studios as Creative Director
Kode Abdo, more popularly known as BossLogic, is joining Fragment, an innovative NFT IP storytelling studio, as its new Creative Director, according to a press release provided to Lucky Trader.
Additionally, Abdo and Fragment's partnership includes the purchase of BossLogic's Mega Mutant NFT, which was transferred from BossLGX to fragment.xyz on OpenSea yesterday, Oct. 25, at 10:12 a.m. ET. Mega Mutants are part of Yuga Labs' Mutant Ape Yacht Club project.
Mega Deathbot, the 1-of-1 Mega Mutant NFT, joins five other Mega Mutant NFTs and will be included in Fragment's upcoming web3 alternative reality game, Applied Primate Engineering (A.P.E.).
“We are so proud to welcome Kode to the Fragment team, and the Mega Deathbot to our NFT collection,” said PTM, Fragment's anonymous founder. “Kode’s expertise and experience working with the highest level of entertainment brands, as well as his commitment and passion towards web3, will prove invaluable as we look to push the boundaries in NFT storytelling and IP ownership.”
The game will utilize "interactive experiences, puzzles, and mini-games to create compelling lore and engagement around the legendary Mega Mutant Apes of the Bored Ape Yacht Club ecosystem," according to the press release. Last week, A.P.E. announced that it is working with popular BAYC personality and councilmember Josh Ong to bring this vision to reality.
BossLogic has previously worked with Marvel Studios, Disney, Sony, and Warner Bros. Discovery to create artworks for popular superhero films like Deadpool, Avengers: Endgame, and Black Adam. Marvel's Avengers: Endgame is one of only two Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films to surpass the $2 billion mark in cumulative grosses.

This is not BossLogic's first foray into web3 and NFTs. In February 2021, he created his personal Boss Logic NFT collection on OpenSea.
Then in August 2021, Abdo launched Gauntlets, the first collection of the BossLogic Universe. These superhero-themed NFTs act as BLU membership passes and are intended to grant access to member-only benefits, including entry to VerseU, an interactive metaverse gaming experience, according to OpenSea's project description.
The collection, however, currently has a floor price of 0.029 ETH, and the community has voiced concerns over developmental progress in 2022.
"Maybe instead of flexing your [Mutant Ape], go build that Boss Logic Universe you promised all your holders," one frustrated Twitter user said back in February 2022.
While the project's Twitter, Discord, and Instagram accounts are active, the official Medium blog has not been updated since December 2021 and the link to the official website currently displays an HTTP 502 error, which means it is unable to connect to the origin server.
Fragment addressed these concerns in a statement issued to Lucky Trader.
"We have the utmost respect and appreciation for BossLogic’s visionary design talent, artistic instincts, and contributions to the entertainment landscape," the team said. "While Fragment was not involved with his previous ventures, and can’t speak to their results, we have the utmost confidence that bringing BossLogic onto the Fragment and A.P.E. team is a giant win by every measure. We are thrilled to begin working together to serve the A.P.E. community and push the boundaries of web3 storytelling."
