Pointila by Phaust NFT Overview

Project Information

Pointila by Phaust is a unique collection of 200 art NFTs that utilize pointillistic painting techniques combined with the randomness of generative art that lives on the Ethereum blockchain.  Created by Georges Seurat in the late 19th century, pointillism emerged from a collision of art and science, consisting of distinct color dots that turn into vibrant, luminous scenes through "optical mixing."

The 200 Pointila NFTs are designed for display and interaction, where clicking on a live mint will trigger an animation loop between the primary and secondary palettes.  On the other hand, owners and collectors alike can press "0, 1, 2, 3, or 4" on your keyboard to change glitch state and S to download a high-resolution print.  Initially, pointila algorithm first divides the canvas into columns, where the randomness generator traverses the canvas dropping dots along those columns and creating landscape scenes.  Finally, the artist adds a glitch animation to blur the lines between technology, art, and digital pixels.
