Moonbirds Floor Plummets Amid Future Proof Conference

While PROOF Collective founder Kevin Rose and CPO Justin Mezzell waxed eloquent on a recorded video about the future of the ecosystem during the second Future Proof conference, holders of Moonbirds and Oddities accepted several WETH offers in response to the distribution of a newly introduced Moonbirds-based project.

Rose and Mezzell introduced Moonbirds Mythics, a new 20,000 PFP project featuring Moonbirds-inspired art, Tuesday detailing the burn process where 25 nested Moonbirds will be eligible to receive a Mythic and 25 Oddities will be sacrificed to the OddGod every day in exchange.

Holders of Oddities can burn for a Mythic but nested Moonbirds aren't guaranteed a Mythic and some may receive two. The process will take at least 400 days to finish and will launch in early 2023.

Instead of basking in the glow of PROOF's other major announcement — a $50 million Series A investment led by a16z — Rose was in the PROOF Collective Discord handling concerns from Moonbirds holders.

"FYI, we hear you on the guaranteed Mythic mint for nested Moonbirds — thank you for the feedback. Give us 24 hours to crunch numbers and get back to you with the plan on the guaranteed portion of the distribution," said Rose in the Moonbirds section of the PROOF Collective Discord.

There were 44 WETH offers accepted for Oddities and 11 for Moonbirds from the start of the announcement to a few hours following the reveal of the timeline.

The floor price also dipped from around 17 ETH to where it currently stands at 13 ETH as of 4:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. The floor price of Moonbirds Oddities reached almost 2.5 ETH before dropping below 1.5 ETH.

In other Future Proof news, the project introduced its web3 social platform where holders of PROOF NFTs will be able to create their own galleries. Rose also announced that the Moonbirds artwork will be moved on-chain.

Rose also revealed the plans for a PROOF token.

“The world doesn’t need another token for speculation. When we do something it should be uniquely our own, with real utility, something that will push what’s possible in new and exciting directions," said Rose.
