U.S. Senator: Stop Money Printer Go Brrr
U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) used a Pudgy Penguin meme to criticize U.S. monetary policy on Twitter Thursday.
Sen. Lummis, who drafted a bipartisan bill that would define digital assets as commodities and not securities, tweeted that the government "cannot print money infinitely without consequence."
"To learn the lesson means to STOP reckless spending and CUT federal expenditures," she said as an animated image of a Pudgy Penguin turned a handle firing money into the air below her, in reference to the popular money-printer-go-brrr meme.
Today’s news should disprove the bologna MMT (Modern Monetary Theorists) are slinging. We cannot print money infinitely without consequence. To learn the lesson means to STOP reckless spending and CUT federal expenditures. pic.twitter.com/4pGoVcFF80
