RASTER is a collection of 400 generative art NFTs created by digital artist and Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky's College of Design Galo Canizares. The collection was released as part of Series 8 of the Art Blocks Curated Collection and represents the last Art Blocks Curated release prior to the Ethereum merge from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake. Galo refers to the collection as an exploration into "pixel overpainting". Using procedural brush strokes with low transparency layered over and over creates a colorful equilibrium that is then dithered into patches of pixels. This process results in each piece in the collection creating a texture that references the numerous digital screens that surround all of us every day.
