RR/BAYC NFT Overview

RR/BAYC is a collection of 10,000 NFTs on the Ethereum blockchain, created by @ryder_ripps.

Ryder created the project after re-minting Bored Ape number 3100 in an attempt to test the boundaries and meaning of digital images within a new paradigm of IP law, copyright, computer-generated images, and Non-Fungible Tokens.

The work was delisted from the platform Foundation after Ryder received a DMCA request from Larva Labs. Ryder successfully countered the DMCA and Bored Ape number 3100 was subsequently re-listed, sending a strong message that you can't copy an NFT.

RR/BAYC uses satire and appropriation to protest and educate people regarding The Bored Ape Yacht Club and the framework of NFTs.
