The 187 by IlluminatiNFT is a special collection of 187 that arose out of a fatal flaw in the initial IlluminatiNFT mint.

The 187 by IlluminatiNFT is a project by Truth Labs, the creators of goblintown.wtf and IlluminatiNFT. Truth Labs is a collective of creators working in the web3 space that is dedicated to sharing blockchain mischief, exploring creatively, developing rich, fun worlds and experiences (both IRL and in the digital realm), and providing a platform for new voices and visions in this space. Truth Labs is founded by @ajt, @CesarKuriyama, and others.

The project arose on the first night of the IlluminatiNFT mint, where the team noticed a fatal flaw in the contract that made them stop the mint. 187 mints occurred during this initial phase. When they relaunched, the team airdropped 187 new tokens, and changed the metadata for the unrevealed "bugged" token to gold, in honor of the Golden Apple of Eris. The project has plans for these special 187 but is kept separate and different from the main Illuminati collection. As part of the mystery behind Truth lab projects, the lore of The 187 states, "Across the universes, contacts are being made. Deep beneath the Hall of the Ancients, machines, long asleep, begin to rumble into motion. It has begun."
