Another Trump Card Batch?
With little warning, the Twitter account associated with Donald Trump's digtial trading card collection announced S2 of the collection priced at $99 per NFT. The announcement includes an image of Trump's promotion of the event on social media platform, Truth Social.
🧐 Wait, What?
In December, Trump helped promote a similarly random drop of NFTs as part of a digital trading card collection. S1 boasts more than 40,000 NFTs and once reached a floor price as high as 0.695 ETH after minting for $99.
The Deets
- KYC still required
- At most 10 copies of each NFT, some 1-of-1s
- Buy 47 get dinner at Mar-a-Lago
- Buy 100, get limited-edition Trump NFT
- NFTs minted on the Polygon blockchain
❗️Why It Matters
Trump's NFTs recently spiked on volume and attention of the former President's indictment, and now he's back in the news with another series of NFTs. The Trump S1 cards do not contain any metadata that specifies "series," likely indicating that additional series of NFTs were not always part of the project plan. And the drop in floor price (amidst the new dilution) likely speaks for the market's feelings on the surprise announcement.
📊 By the Numbers
The Trump Digital Trading Card floor price has fallen more than 60 percent in the last hour to 0.16 ETH each. For comparison, the mint of a new Trump card is ~0.05 ETH.
